A spa may reduce arthritic and chronic pain?
A spa may reduce arthritic and chronic pain?
For people suffering from skeletal ailments such as arthritis, carpal tunnel, tendonitis, and other types of bodily aches and pains, spending time in a spa may provide some much-needed relief. Due to the buoyancy from the bubbles (created by the spa’s jets), we feel our own weight disappear, our blood circulation increases with the heat, the tightness in our muscles relaxes, and inflammation in our sensitive joints is reduced. In this state, an aching body may experience heightened flexibility, strength, and a wider range of physical motion. It’s no wonder so many people see significant benefits from hydrotherapy when recovering from back, knee, or other joint problems.
Operating Costs
Operating Costs
Because spas require electricity to power the jets, heat and circulate the water, new hot tub owners generally see an increase in their electricity bill after installing their spa. So how much will it cost you to run your hot tub? That depends on the type of spa you buy, ambient temperature in your area, the temperature of the water, frequency of use and the cost of electricity where you live, but it can range from as little as a few pounds per week to much more. It's important that you understand how the hot tub you choose is designed to keep operating costs low.
Water Care
Water Care
Less time for maintenance means more time to relax in your spa. Though all spas require some simple chemical maintenance, such as testing the water's PH, the process should be easy and stress-free for you. When looking at a hot tub you're interested in, ask a sales person to explain your water care options.
pH Control
pH Control
Proper pH balance is extremely important in controlling bacteria, providing water that’s comfortable for the user, and in preventing damage to the spa and its equipment. Using the scale of 0-14, pH is the measure of acidity and alkaline in the water. pH levels under 7.0 are acidic while pH levels over 7.0 are alkaline. The proper pH range for a spa is 7.2 to 7.6.
Can I use a hot tub all year round?
Can I use a hot tub all year round?
Yes, you can use the tub throughout the year, but it may need to be drained and cleaned depending on where you live. In warmer climates, especially in mild winters, it is safe to leave your hot tub in the ground year-round. However, if you live in an area with freezing temperatures or snowfall, it is recommended that you drain your hot tub and store it indoors during the winter months. This will prevent damage from freezing and allow for maintenance work such as cleaning and draining before the following season.
